Ingredients for cream stuffing
7/8 almonds
2 tbsp fresh cream
1 tbsp milk powder
One pinch cardamom powder
1 tbsp powdered sugar
Ingredients for milk syrup
1/2 litre milk
2 tbsp milk powder
1/2 tbsp custard powder
4 tbsp sugar
Saffron strands
Chopped dry fruits
6 bread slices
Steps
In a bowl take fresh cream (can use tetra pack cream or whole milk cream)
Grind 7 to 8 almonds into a powder, put this almond powder to the cream, add 1 tbsp of milk powder, cardamom powder, 1 tbsp powdered sugar, give a good mix.
This stuffing mixture should be thick and creamy, if milk powder is not available ,use more quantity of fresh cream .
Remove 2 tbsp of milk from half litre milk, add half tbsp custard powder to it, mix it and keep aside.
Heat the milk in a wide pan or kadai, when it comes to boil stir it, add 2 tbsp milk powder, keep mixing continuously to avoid lumps .
Boiling for few minutes on low flame you will see the milk is start thickening fast because of milk powder.
If milk powder is not available for you, then boil the milk for some more minutes on low flame to make it naturally thick.
Add sugar to the boiling milk, keep stirring till sugar melts, put few strands of saffron, pour the custard powder mixture, keep stirring well to avoid lumps and get a milk mixture that is not too thick or not too thin. Add some chopped dry fruits to it.
This milk syrup will be used for soaking bread malai sandwich. As bread will soak the liquid milk it should not be too thick.
Take 6 bread slices, cut the edges of the bread. Make 3 sandwiches out of it by applying the cream mixture stuffing in between them, make a thick layer of stuffing for good results.
Cut these stuffed sandwiches into triangle shape .
Pour the milk syrup into a wide square glass dish and dip this bread malai sandwiches into it, let the bread soak the milk syrup .
Garnish with chopped dry fruits .
Refrigerate it for at least 2 hours, it taste better when cool.

Points to Remember *You have to be very careful while cutting because they are very soft and can break easily. Do not apply pressure on the middle part of the square or else they will break. *The amount of sugar can be adjusted by your taste. *Always use fresh and soft bread for making desserts they give you the best results. *Do not store soaked Bread Malai Sandwiches for more than 2 or 3 hours, it will turn soggy. *Apply sufficient amount of malai mixture on one half of the square and place the other half on it just like in a sandwich.
