Chicken Ishtu Curry Recipe
Ingredients
3-4 Tbsp Oil
2 Onions
3 Green Cardamoms
4 Cloves
2 Cinnamon
1 Tbsp Ginger & Garlic Chopped
500 gms Chicken
Pinch of Turmeric Powder
1 Tomato
Salt
2 Tsp Coriander Seeds
1 Tsp Cumin
1 Tsp Fennel
8-10 Black Pepper Corns
3-4 Dried Red Chillies
2-3 Green Chillies
1 Potato
1 Carrot
3-4 French Beans
300 ml water
2 Tbsp Curd
Coriander Leaves
Steps
1. Heat 3-4 Tbsp Oil in the pot of pressure cooker, add sliced Onions, Green Cardamom, Cloves and Cinnamon. Saute it for 2 minutes until onions are soft.
2. Add chopped Ginger & Garlic and saute it for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add 500gms Chicken, Pinch of Turmeric Powder and mix it well on high flame. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
4. Add Tomato and Salt. Cover the pan with lid and cook for 4-5 minutes on low flame.
5. Heat the pan, add Coriander Seeds, Cumin Fennel and Black Pepper Corns. Roast all the spices for 1-2 minutes.
6. Put all the spices in the mortar and slightly crushed with the pestle.
7. Add the crushed spices, Dried Red Chillies, chopped Green Chillies. Potato, Carrot and French Beans (Vegetables are optional).
8. Mix everything and stir it for 4-5 minutes on high flame.
9. Add 300ml Water, Curd in the Chicken and mix it well on low flame. Let it boil for a while.
10. Close the pressure cooker with its lid and place the whistle on it. Cook until 2 to 3 whistles on high flame.
