Mango sago is a refreshing Cantonese dessert made with fresh mangoes and small sago pearls. It is the perfect light and fruity pudding. Its so easy to make at home with only 4 ingredients and a blender!
If you have never had mango sago before, it is like a mix between a pudding and a smoothie. If you like the sago pearls in bubble tea, you will love mango sago with its tiny tapioca pearls. When topped with more fresh mangoes, this becomes such a quick and easy dessert to make that also looks delicious and inviting.

Ingredients
1/2 cup i.e.100 grams Sago (sabudana)
2 tablespoon Milk
1 tablespoon of Custard Powder
2 cups i.e.half litre Milk
1/3rd cup i.e.80 grams Sugar
2 Mangoes chopped
1 tablespoon Basil Seeds
2-3 tablespoon Water
Steps
Firstly, take half cup sabudana Sago wash it twice, then soak it in water for at least 1 hour.
Take 2 tbsp milk, add 1 tbsp of custard powder to it mix it and keep aside.
Heat 1 litre of water in a saucepan, when it comes to a boil add the sabudana to the boiling water, cook till the sabudana turns transparent.
While the sabudana is cooking, heat 2 cup milk approxiamately 1/2 litre in a saucepan boil it.
Add 1/3rd cup of sugar to the boiling milk stir it and let the sugar melt.
Now check the sabudana if transparent off the flame and then strain it.
Then add a little cold water on the sabudana and strain it so that the cooking process of sabudana will stop.
Check the milk if sugar has melted reduce the flame, then add the custard powder slurry that you have prepared before.
Keep stirring to avoid lumps and cook on medium flame for 1 minute and then off the flame keep aside and let it cool.
Take 2 mangoes wash and peel them, cut into small pieces.
Take 1 tbsp Basil seeds soak them in 2-3 tbsp of water for 15 minutes.
Transfer the milk mixture into a bowl after it is cool down, then add 1 cup chopped mangoes to it then blend it with hand blender till the pudding turns creamy.
Now add the strained sabudana to the pudding, soaked Basil seeds and some chopped mangoes to it.
Mix it well and keep in the refrigerator to set a little. Then serve chilled.
You can eat this right after mixing all the ingredients together or have it chill in the fridge overnight.
