Bread slices dunk in sweet creamy, battery custard cooked to perfection makes this mouth watering dessert a royal treat.
Whether whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, semolina, multigrain you can use any bread of your choice.
It will be much better if you use whole milk which will bring richness to the dessert.
Butter makes the dessert more rich and creamy.
Mostly only raisins are added but we have used a lot of nuts like Almond, cashew, pista, cherry etc.

8 Bread Slices
Butter
1/2 cup Milk
3 tablespoons of Custard powder
2 & 1/2 cups of Milk
1/2 cup Sugar
1 cup of Whipping Cream
Dry Fruits

Steps
Take 8 bread slices, cut the corners of it, you can take any bread, brown bread, white bread whatever you like.
Apply butter on the Bread on both sides.
Heat a pan on low flame then toast this bread slices in it, make it a little crispy on both sides, and prepare the remaining bread slices this way.
Take half a cup of milk in a bowl add 3 tbsp of custard powder and mix it well.
Take 2 & 1/2 cups of milk in a saucepan, keep it boiling when the milk starts boiling, add half cup of sugar and keep stirring till the sugar melts.
In total we will use 3 cups of milk for this recipe, that is 750 ml.
Give it a good mix to the mixture which you have prepared with milk and custard powder, as the custard powder settles down, then gradually pour this mixture into the boiling milk, keep the flame low and keep stirring to avoid lumps.
Cook for 2-3 minutes.After the milk comes to a boil and thickens, off the flame.
Take a serving dish in which you want to prepare the dessert, place 4 slices of toasted bread in the dish, then pour the custard milk on the Bread slices .
Cover the bread slices with the custard milk and then repeat this process for 4 other bread slices.
Pour the entire custard milk on the second layer of toasted bread.
Take 1 cup of whipping cream in a bowl, beat it till fluffy, do not add sugar as whipping cream contains a little sugar if you wish you can add 1-2 tbsp of powdered sugar.
When done make a layer of cream on the custard pudding and cover the pudding with cream.
Now you can garnish it with your favourite toppings such as grated chocolate, chopped dryfruits and cherries.
Place it in the refrigerator for 4-5 hours to get it set.
Then remove it from the fridge and cut into pieces and serve cold.

Points to Remember * The quantity of sugar depends on your liking of sweetness . *You can add spices like cinnamon powder or nutmeg powder for extra flavour and fragrance for Garnishing on top.
