Chatpate Chane is famous street food which is a little spicy in taste but all love it.

Ingredients for Chatpate Chane

Â¼ cup tamarind pulp

Â¼ cup jaggery / gur

2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder

1 tsp roasted cumin powder

Salt to taste

1 tsp fennel seeds powder

4 dried red chillies

2 tbsp gram flour

1 cup water

250 gms boiled chana

Chopped onion

Chopped coriander leaves

Steps for Chatpate Chane

In a bowl, take Â¼ cup tamarind pulp (1/4 cup tamarind soak it for 30 mins in water, clean it and remove the pulp).

Add Â¼ cup jaggery, 2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder, 1 tsp roasted cumin powder and salt to taste.

Add 1 tsp fennel seeds powder, mix all the ingredients to form a paste. Keep aside.

In a pan, heat 3-4 tbsp oil and add 4 dried red chillies. Cook for 30 secs

Now add 2 tbsp gram flour and cook on low flame for another 1 min.

Now add the paste into the pan and stir continuously. Add 1 cup water.

Once the water starts boiling on high flame, add 250 gms boiled chanas (soak them for 5-6 hrs, add salt and boil in a pressure cooker).

Cover the lid and cook for 2-3 mins.

Let it simmer for some time more so that the consistency becomes thick.

Garnish with chopped onion and coriander leaves and serve
