Chicken Pakoda
Ingredients
250 gms boneless chicken
10-12 garlic cloves
1 green chilli
1 small pc of ginger
2 tsp kashmiri chilli pd
1 tsp garam masala pd
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
½ cup all purpose flour
¼ cup cornflour
¼ cup green onion bulbs
¼ cup green onion leaves
1 egg white
1-2 tbsp water
Oil for frying
Steps
• In a bowl, take 250 gms boneless chicken and cut it into small strips and wash thoroughly.
• Take 10-12 garlic cloves, 1 green chilli and 1 small piece of ginger. Chop them into fine pieces using a chopper and add it to the chicken.
• Now add 2 tsp kashmiri chilli pd,1 tsp garam masala pd, juice of 1 lemon , salt to taste and 1 tbsp oil. Mix all the ingredients properly, cover the lid and keep aside for 30 mins.
• After 30 mins, add ½ cup all purpose flour, ¼ cup corn flour, ¼ cup each of green onion bulbs and leaves, and 1 egg white.
• Mix gently with hands using 1-2 tbsp of water so that it becomes a sticky thick batter.
• In a pan, heat oil. With the help of a toothpick check whether the oil is sufficiently hot. (Insert the toothpick in the oil and if bubbles come up around it that means that the oil is ready for frying.
• Now turn the flame low, and add the chicken strips. Continue to cook on low flame so that the chicken is well cooked.
• Cook each side for 3-4 mins without much stirring.
• Remove the chicken when it becomes crispy and reddish brown in color.
