Jhat Pat Chaat

Jhat Pat Chaat

Jhatpat Chat is an easy and quick yoghurt based chaat recipe made with deep-fried flat puri with other chaat chutneys. It is a popular north Indian chaat recipe known for its sweet, sour and spicy taste it has to offer. This chaat recipe is typically served as a dessert after spicy chaat meal due to the use of yoghurt sauce in it. Chaat recipes are very common and sought after recipe with many young and teenage audiences. Typically it is served as a spicy meal with a combination of flavours in it, but then there are some yoghurt based chaat recipes too. One such curd or dahi based chaat recipe is dahi papdi chaat recipe inspired by Dahi Bhalla or Dahi Vada recipe. This recipe is very much inspired from its far cousin Dahi Vada recipe. Basically the way the yoghurt, green chutney and red chutney are used in this recipe is very similar. However, the recipe is further extended by adding other ingredients like tomato and onions make it very unique. I personally like the combination of the crispy texture of flat papdi or puri with spicy, sour and sweet wet ingredients. This recipe is an ideal choice to be served for guests as it hardly requires more than 10 minutes if papdi and chutneys are handy. Moreover, there is a wide opportunity to extend and experiment with various different ingredients as per your choice. I would heavily recommend making these flat puri at home, but maybe time-consuming or too much effort. Hence you may get ready-made from stores and start assembling right away. Secondly, the curd or dahi has to be beaten thoroughly before it is used for any chaat recipes. Basically, it has to be silky smooth like cream and can be poured or topped easily on chaat dish. Lastly, once the dish is assembled it has to be served immediately. Due to the use of wet ingredients, it may turn soggy if not used right away.
