We are here with the famous street food recipe..I have had it many times .This is one of my favourite dishes to enjoy, because it is healthy and makes you full for a long time. Yes it is a complete meal all by itself..You can either have it for lunch or dinner; anyway it is perfect for parties and iftaari!
Ragda pattice is a popular street food in north India. A mashed potato patty with peas gravy, chutneys and spices makes it a perfect balance of all taste sweet, sour and spicy!
Ragda is a gravy (curry) with mild spices making it perfect for the dish. It is perfectly balanced that you can even have it as such.
Dried white peas is used commonly to prepare this gravy.
Pattice which is localized term of a patty made with potato as main ingredient.

Ingredients
White Peas- 250 grams
3 cups Water
1 tablespoon Oil
1 Potato
Half teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
Half teaspoon Roasted Cumin
Half teaspoon black Salt
Half teaspoon Chat Masala
Fresh Coriander
5 Boiled Potatoes
3 tablespoon Cornflour
1 and a half teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
1/4th teaspoon Turmeric Powder
Half teaspoon Chat Masala
Little Oil
Sweet and sour Tamarind Chutney
Green Chutney
Red Chutney
Chat Masala
Roasted Cumin Powder
Red Chilli Powder
Onions
Coriander
Sev
Steps
Soak 250 grams of white peas overnight in water.
Then boil it in a pressure cooker by adding three cups of water, half teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon oil, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 potato peeled and cut into small pieces.
Cook on high flame till 1 whistle, then on low flame for 4 to 5 Whistles.
By adding a potato to the ragda the gravy of ragda will become thick in texture.
When the ragda is boiled transfer this boiled Ragda into a Kadai, then add half teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder, half teaspoon roasted cumin, half teaspoon black salt, half teaspoon chat masala, some fresh chopped coriander leaves cook on low flame till it comes to a boil .
Adjust the consistency of the gravy of ragda as per your choice, if its little thick and you want watery gravy you can add little water.
When it comes to a boil mix it well and then off the flame and keep aside.
Now let us make the preparation for the pattice.
Take 5 boiled potatoes grate them, then add 3 tablespoon cornflour, 1 and a half teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon Chilli flakes, 1/4th teaspoon turmeric powder, half teaspoon chat masala to the grated potato and mix it well.
Then make round shape pattice of this boiled potato mixture.
You can make 7 to 8 pattice out of this potato mixture.
Heat a flat tava/pan pour little oil and brush the oil on the tava/pan, then fry the pattice on medium to low flame till crispy for 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
Now let us go to the procedure of serving the ragda pattice.
Take some Ragda in a small dish place 2 pattice on it, then pour some sweet and sour tamarind chutney, some coriander and mint green chutney ,some red chutney, sprinkle some chat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, then garnish it with some chopped onions, Chopped coriander leaves and Sev.

Tips: *You can add yogurt while serving ragda patties. It tastes great, yogurt is always a good idea in Indian chaat! *You can add onions or skip if you do not like raw onions. *Boil the ragda in a pressure cooker to make it smooth and easily cooked.
